Privacy Policy
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how Naviware Research & Development LTD ("Naviware," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Naviware website and the products we build, including our browser extensions, VS Code extensions, developer packages, and platforms (collectively, the "Services").
Different products under the Naviware name handle data differently depending on what they do. This policy describes our general practices and then breaks out how each category of product actually handles data, rather than making one blanket claim that wouldn't be accurate across everything we build.
1. Information We Collect Directly
Through the Naviware website, we collect information you provide to us directly:
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, and message content.
- Waitlist signups: email address, and the product you signed up for updates on.
We do not require an account to browse the website or join a waitlist.
2. Information Handling By Product Category
Browser Extensions (e.g. Delight, Zhuzh)
Delight processes your conversations and page content locally, storing chat history in encrypted local storage on your device. When you send a message to an AI model through Delight, that message is transmitted to the AI provider you've selected (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, or SambaNova) in order to generate a response, governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms. Naviware does not independently store or access the content of your conversations on our own servers.
Zhuzh stores your preferences (wallpaper choices, timer settings, currency preferences, and quick links derived from your own browser history) locally on your device. Zhuzh does not transmit this data to Naviware or to any third party.
VS Code Extensions (e.g. Reprompt, Change Scribe, Baseline Lens)
Reprompt and Change Scribe send the content you provide — prompt text, project context, or commit history — to the AI provider you've configured (such as Perplexity, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, or SambaNova) in order to generate results. This may include code or project details present in what you submit. We recommend reviewing what you send through these tools if your codebase contains sensitive or proprietary information, and reviewing your chosen provider's own data handling policy.
Baseline Lens performs compatibility analysis locally within your editor and does not require transmitting your code to Naviware or any third party to function.
Packages (e.g. Tidings, Baseline Lens CLI)
Tidings and Baseline Lens CLI are open-source packages that developers install into their own applications. When a developer uses Tidings to send SMS notifications through mNotify, or uses Baseline Lens CLI in their own pipeline, Naviware is not the data controller for that activity — the developer and their application are responsible for how end-user data (such as phone numbers) is collected, used, and protected. This Privacy Policy does not govern data processed through packages we publish that are integrated into third-party applications.
Platforms In Development (Nyansapo, Chopwell, Onuado, Badwenba)
These platforms are not yet publicly launched. At this stage, the only data we collect related to them is the email address you provide if you join a waitlist for launch updates. Each platform will publish its own specific privacy terms — reflecting what will likely be more sensitive data categories, such as student records, payment information, or employment benefit data — before it becomes available for real use.
3. How We Use Information
- To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
- To notify you when a product you've joined the waitlist for becomes available
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of our website
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following categories of third-party services to operate:
- AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, SambaNova, Perplexity) — only for the products described above, and only when you actively use their AI features.
- Infrastructure and hosting providers — to run the website and store waitlist/contact submissions.
5. Data Retention
We retain contact form and waitlist submissions for [RETENTION PERIOD — to be determined] or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. Locally stored data (such as Delight's chat history or Zhuzh's preferences) remains on your device until you clear it yourself or uninstall the extension.
6. Children's Privacy
Our website and products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a Naviware platform is used within an institution serving minors (such as a school), the institution — not Naviware — acts as the data controller for student information, subject to a separate agreement with that institution.
7. International Data Transfers
Naviware is incorporated in Ghana. Where our products send information to AI providers or infrastructure services located outside Ghana, that information may be processed in other countries, subject to the safeguards those providers maintain.
8. Your Rights
See our Data Protection page for a full description of your rights regarding personal information we hold, and how to exercise them.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
